Postponement Questions

What is the new date?

The new date for State of the City is Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Hilton Americas- Houston.

How will we be notified of the new event details?

An email has been sent to all contacts in our database. If you were unable to reserve a ticket, table, or sponsorship for this sold-out event and would like to be on the waitlist, please submit here.

I was unable to secure a ticket, table, or sponsorship originally, will there be a new opportunity?

Please ensure your name is on the waitlist here. Potential sponsors & tables will be notified as they come available. For individual seats, an email will be sent January 22, 2026 to the waitlist should any be available for sale.

I am no longer able to attend, can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

Yes, you can transfer your ticket to someone else. Please email houstonfirstevents@houstonfirst.com if you are interested in transferring your ticket with your name, email address, and confirmation number.

How can I request a refund?

General Questions

What is State of the City?

State of the City is the City of Houston Mayor’s signature event where the vision city’s future is announced. The speech focusing on Houston’s accomplishments and goals is given annually to an audience of business and community leaders. 

Where and when is this year’s State of the City address?

The State of the City 2025 address will be held in-person at the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel with the new date TBD.

Who is coordinating and planning this year’s State of the City address?

At the request of Mayor John Whitmire, Houston First Corporation and the Greater Houston Partnership will co-host this year’s State of the City address.

What is the waitlist?

We encourage attendees who have not registered for State of the City, but planned on attending, to join our waitlist. By joining, you will be notified should tables become available.

Who can attend?

Anyone who purchases an event ticket can attend this year’s State of the City. 

Will the State of the City be broadcast virtually this year?

This year’s State of the City will be held in-person, however the HTV team will broadcast live on HTV’s channel and the Mayor’s Facebook platform. Check the City of Houston HTV website for more information. 

What attire is recommended for this event?

How many attendees are we able to bring?

The number of invites is dependent on the level of sponsorship participation.

What are the benefits of becoming a sponsor?

This year’s sponsorship will provide the opportunity to showcase your company to hundreds of business, government, and community leaders throughout the city, including branding presence through event marketing emails sent to local and national media.
